    Presentation Summary:

    Amber Lewis, Digital & Social Media Manager for the city of Detroit will be joining CMPRSA for our September 12, 2017 luncheon from noon to 1:15 p.m. Amber will discuss Detroit’s social presence as an information source, storytelling platform and voice of Detroit. Detroit’s revamped social platforms connect residents that might not otherwise have access to city hall with information and opportunities. She will examine the city’s social growth, creative campaigns and digital insights.

    About the Speaker:

    Amber Lewis is the Digital and Social Media manager for the City of Detroit and Mayor Mike Duggan. She gained experience in communications and media through her prior roles as Events, PR, and Social Media Intern for Pure Michigan, and as Advertising Executive Intern for Mootown Creamery.

    A lifelong Detroiter, Amber is a recent Michigan State University almuna where she studied Advertising Media and Management with a minor in Spanish. As a student, she gained experience in international advertising by participating in the Advertising and PR a la Mediterranean program in Rome, Italy. Before graduating in May of 2015, she helped develop an advertising campaign for Habitat for Humanity of Michigan.

    Amber serves on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Michigan as their youngest board member ever. She is a STEMinista role model through the Michigan Science Center where she inspires young Detroit girls to pursue careers in STEM and cultivate their current skill sets and educates them on digital media as a stem profession.

    Her commitment to Detroit inspired her to return to her hometown to work, live, and inspire others. She lives by the motto "She believes she can so she does." Amber was recently named to Crain's Business DetroitTwenty in their 20'sand has been featured for her work inHuffington Post.
